Routing Heterogeneous Traffic in Delay-Tolerant Satellite Networks

چکیده

Delay-tolerant networking (DTN) offers a novel architecture that can be used to enhance store-carry-forward routing in satellite networks. Since these networks take advantage of scheduled contact plans, distributed algorithms like the Contact Graph Routing (CGR) utilized optimize data delivery performance. However, despite numerous improvements made CGR, there is lack proposals prioritize traffic with distinct quality service (QoS) requirements. This study presents adaptations CGR improve QoS-compliant ratio when transmitting different latency constraints, along an integer linear programming optimization model serves as performance upper bound. The extensive results obtained by simulating scenarios show proposed effectively and energy efficiency while meeting constraints.

A Scalable Routing for Delay-tolerant Heterogeneous Networks

A Delay Tolerant Network (DTN) is an intermittently connected mobile wireless network in which the connectivity between nodes changes frequently, due to the nodes’ movement. Recently, there have been a lot of researchers working in this area. However, to the best of our knowledge, no work has addressed itself specifically to DTN routing within heterogeneous network environments. In this work, w...

Energy-Aware Probabilistic Epidemic Forwarding Method in Heterogeneous Delay Tolerant Networks

Due to the increasing use of wireless communications, infrastructure-less networks such as Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs) should be highly considered. DTN is most suitable where there is an intermittent connection between communicating nodes such as wireless mobile ad hoc network nodes. In general, a message sending node in DTN copies the message and transmits it to nodes which it encounters. A...

Survey of Routing in Delay Tolerant Networks

Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs) is a network, where synchronous connectivity among all nodes doesn’t exist i.e. end to end connectivity not mandatory to be present. The major problem of DTN is how to route a packet from one terminal to another. Due mobility of nodes, unreliable and temporary connectivity the routing problem becomes more complex. It is very tedious to design the routing protocol ...

Routing metrics in Delay Tolerant Networks

Routing in telecommunication networks rely on the definition of performance indicators called routing metrics. Popular routing metrics are the route throughput, end-to-end delay and jitter. However, in a delay tolerant network displaying link disruptions, these metrics may be questionable. This contribution proposes six metrics for characterising routes in a delay tolerant network. These metric...

Routing Protocols in Delay Tolerant Networks

Delay Tolerant Network (DTN) can be defined as an approach to Computer Network Architecture which provides a promising solution that seeks to address the technical issues in the regions where end-toend network connectivity may lack continuously or is not available. These problems are aggravated by end nodes with limited power or memory resources. In DTNs, the intermediate nodes on a Transmissio...
